APPLICATION FOR PASSPORT

Passport Services 

The following categories of passport services are provided at the Mission, select your passport option below and read the information carefully, as it contains vital information for your passport application.

 

Requirements for New Passport Applications

  1. A duly filled application form
  2. Original Kenyan birth certificate and a copy (persons born abroad must apply and obtain a Kenya born abroad birth certificate first) – A copy of the Foreign Birth certificate is to be submitted as well.
  3. Original and a copy of Identity Card (applicants over 18 Years Old)
  4. Certificate of Registration if Kenyan by registration.
  5. Dully filled consent form for minors (click to download)
  6. Copies of parents’ Kenyan IDs
  7. Two (2) payment invoices
  8. Copy of residence permit/ certificate of Naturalisation/proof of either having regained Kenya citizenship and or Declared Kenya citizenship for Dual Citizens.
  9. A secure, registered and trackable self-addressed envelope with prepaid postage for dispatch of your documents. The envelope should have sufficient postage (not less than 500g) clearly indicating full names and post code for the applicant.

 

Requirements for Replacement of Passport

  1. A duly filled application form
  2. Old Passport and a copy
  3. Original ID and copy (over 18 years old applicants)
  4. Copy of birth certificate (both sides)
  5. Copy of certificate of Registration if Kenyan by registration.
  6. Dully filled consent form for minors (click to download)
  7. Two (2) payment invoices
  8. Copy of residence permit/ certificate of Naturalisation/proof of either having regained Kenya citizenship and or Declared Kenya citizenship for Dual Citizens.

Requirements for Mutilated/Damaged Passport

  1. A duly filled application form
  2. Old Passport and a copy
  3. Copy of birth Certificate
  4. Copy of Registration certificate if Kenyan by registration
  5. Original and copy of Kenyan ID (over 18 years old applicants)
  6. Dully filled consent form for minors (click to download)
  7. A letter explaining circumstances for the damage
  8. Two (2) payment invoices
  9. A secure, registered and trackable self-addressed envelope with prepaid postage for dispatch of your documents. The envelope should have sufficient postage (not less than 500g) clearly indicating full names and post code for the applicant.
  10. Copy of residence permit/ certificate of Naturalisation/proof of either having regained Kenya citizenship and or Declared Kenya citizenship for Dual Citizens.

Note: persons born abroad must apply and obtain a Kenya born abroad birth certificate first)
A copy of the Foreign Birth certificate is to be submitted as well.

 

Requirements for a Lost Passport

  1. A duly filled application form
  2. Copy of lost passport or a previously issued passport
  3. Copy of birth certificate (both sides)
  4. Original and copy of ID (over 18 years old applicants)
  5. Copy of registration certificate if Kenyan by registration
  6. Dully filled consent form for minors (click to download)
  7. Police report on the loss of passport
  8. Sworn Affidavit explaining circumstances for loss
  9. Duly filled proforma for lost passport (click here for more)
  10. A secure, registered and trackable self-addressed envelope with prepaid postage for dispatch of your documents. The envelope should have sufficient postage (not less than 500g) clearly indicating full names and post code for the applicant.
  11. Copy of residence permit/ certificate of Naturalisation/proof of either having regained Kenya citizenship and or Declared Kenya citizenship for Dual Citizens.

A copy of the Foreign Birth certificate is to be submitted as well.

 

Change of Name in Passport

Kenyans who require to change name in the passport as a result of marriage, divorce or deed poll should apply for a new passport.

  1. Name change as a result of marriage should provide a copy of marriage certificate. (if foreign issued, to be duly certified by a Notary, Solicitor or Commissioner for Oaths).
  2. If any partner had a previous marriage, proof of divorce.
  3. Other name change, provide a Deed Poll (document prepared and registered at the Registrar of documents in the Ministry of Lands, Nairobi) and a copy of Kenya Gazette Notice effecting name change.
  4. Other amendments: correction of date of birth, place of birth etc., forward a copy of birth certificate (both sides) that was used to acquire the passport) and the original expired passport if any.
  5. Letter to the High Commissioner requesting the name change.

A copy of the Foreign Birth certificate is to be submitted as well.

Order of documents when submitting at the High Commission

  1. Secure, registered and trackable self-addressed prepaid envelope
  2. Application form
  3. Invoice 1 (Government copy)
  4. Invoice 2 (Customer copy)
  5. Original and copy of passport (bio data page) for replacements
  6. Copy of Kenya birth certificate
  7. Original and copy of 2nd Generation Identity card (over 18 years old applicants)
  8. Copies of parents’ documents (ID and passport (optional for replacements)
  9. Letter addressed to the High Commission for Name change
  10. Copy of Marriage certificate (where applicable)
  11. Copy of Deep Poll and Kenya Gazette Notice (where applicable)
  12. Copy of Resident card/ certificate of Naturalization
  13. Copy of Registrations for Kenyans by Registration
  14. For Dual citizens- proof of having either regained Kenya citizenship and or declared Kenya citizenship.
